of our very first collection..

Of Our Very First Collection..

ok Jo is currently overseas. Lonely me shall hog some air time here to blog about our first collection launched 2 weeks ago.
The pieces featured were actually the results of our first recce trip to local suppliers. Somehow, the selection kinda reflected our cautious mood back then - Jo and I had just come together and finally decided that we are going to start SashPetals. We were mindful to be very selective, so you can imagine the million questions going through our minds as we went through each item - "ok, do I like this?" "will other girls like this", "what is this suitable for"

We ended up with this batch of apparel which i felt, was Vintage chic, so I took over this lauch to manage
Of course, we had to plan our photoshoot next, so I was busy looking for inspiration on the "feel" I wanted for this series.
Ok Ive got to admit that im very into chiffon-sleeves recently. Jo is pretty much gonna kill me soon for wanting chiffon sleeves in everything.
Why - ok in this crazy humid sg weather, tell me u gals wanna wear long sleeves G2000 stripe shirts.. urrgh!
Before the dawn of chiffon-madess, i think we can forget about looking good in long sleeves
dont we all want wind in our hair..

I picked out "Whisper in the Wind" from the racks cos it looked so windy at first sight, thus the name
Then Jo eyed something assymetrical, her pet shopping peeve. LOL. When I held it, it weighed only like 50 grams i swear!
When conceptualising the photoshoot, i pictured wearing this on the cruise, overlooking the blue blue sea.
Lightness
Named it thus - "Cruise to the Carribean"

This comes in 3 holiday-ish colour - cream, nude, and navy!
I think these pieces looked best tucked into shorts. add a straw hat.. but hey, thats me
The highlight moment of our first "professional shopping trip" (haha, i didnt say? both of us are so happy that we can legitimately spend hours looking at clothes, now that we have SP), was when i spotted something that I had wanted some time ago, but was OOS. So imagine my exhiliaration that i am able to get one, and even sell it on my very own shop

Hint Hint, it was kinda country. but yet, so nice

And being a fan of the classically beautiful Grace Kelly, who won an Oscar for her move "The Country Girl" in 1958

I dedicated this piece to her "A Little Bit Country"
and I really think BURNT ORANGE is so the colour now. together with teal and mustard. 2 years back, I wouldnt have considered these colours, but now i think they give you this whole new level of vibrancy and life, and makes you stand out among perhaps hundreds of others wearing black or white that very day in the MRT, your school/ office.
Oh and I wore it myself and my office gals were giving thumbs up.
The photos are exceptionally pretty for this launch, as we booked more than 4 hrs of Kelly's time for an outdoor shoot. So the pretty pics you see are a result of 5 persons sweating crazy. But we were so happy with the results, as this is how we wanted to kick-start SashPetals, with a Bang!
Im loving this launch. Responses have been good, thanks to friends and family supporting. Some pieces are left as of now, so feel free to drop by and take a look

and oh, so looking forward to Jo's launch of our specially imported apparels, happening in 2 days time
Stay tuned!
